an elegant rosh hoshanah family dinner
our friend selected the linen table runner + napkins in a soft polished blue + gold, delicate bread plate, charger + condiment dish in white porcelain with burlap texture + brilliant glassware to set with her marion noyes candlesticks, stunning silver + incomparable table
what we love about this table (besides the table itself): the sophisticated pairing of texture, shapes + hues, the mix of classic, contemporary + tradition, the lightness of the setting with the solidity of the silver + wood
for the flowers we used nick moen spring green bowls – and loaded them with proteus, gentia, delphinium, chilean fern, seeded eucalyptus, hydrangea, stock + ferns – from artefact home|garden
i am sure the meal was fabulous…just like our friend!
the yuka uchida porcelain is designed + hand made in the usa. plates, bowl + mugs are hand made, imprinted with a linen or burlap weave – then glazed to perfection.
nouvel studio glass is hand blown + hand cut in mexico city – the double layer of glass makes it brilliant – the world class designers make them memorable
nick moen is a young artisan from asheville, nc. his ceramic mugs, bowls, vases + vessels are uniquely glazed and are a favorite at the shop.
at artefact we encourage you to mix the new with the old, family heirlooms with edgy new artisan ware…as tim gunn says ‘make it work’!
as we wind up to the holiday season, we will be “setting the table” – showing our ‘pairings’ – we may share a recipe or two as well.
