Artefact accepts returns on all full price non-plant products within 14 days of purchase or shipment date when accompanied by an original store receipt and in perfect saleable condition for a store credit.  If we agree to accept a return without a receipt a store credit will be issued at the current selling price.  All sale items are final sale; non returnable.  All custom pieces and special order requests are final sale; non returnable.

Please see below for exceptions regarding furniture, containers + live plants.

FURNITURE |  every custom furniture order is a final sale and cannot be returned.  All furniture purchased off the shop floor at a regular or discounted price is considered a final sale and cannot be returned.

CONTAINERS |  we do not offer refunds for containers, fountains or outdoor furniture that is damaged by weather conditions or normal wear.

SPECIAL ORDERS |  all special orders are final sale and therefore not returnable.  All special orders under $1,000 must be paid in full at time of placing the order.

PLANTS |  please take extra care with your living plants as they are perishable and subject to variable conditions such as weather, transportation, watering + positioning.  Acceptance of our plants at the time of the sale is proof of good health and sustainability.  Because live plants are subject to variable conditions we are not able to offer a guarantee or refund.

If you receive a damaged, defective or incorrect item, we will work with you to rectify the issue.


Standard pricing is valid for 30 days.  Quotes provided during promotional periods are void once the promotion ends.


 Changes and cancellations to an order will not be accepted once the order is confirmed and the deposit has been received.

FURNITURE + OTHER LARGE ITEMS – shipping options

 WHITE GLOVE DELIVERY |  the piece(s) will be delivered to your home + positioned per your instruction.  The piece(s) will be unwrapped + assembled if necessary.  It is your responsibility to carefully inspect the piece(s).  If there are any issues make certain to note them on the delivery paperwork.  Once you have approved the delivery  all packing materials will be removed from your home.  We recommend this service for in home furniture, lighting, other large + valuable pieces.

THRESHOLD DELIVERY |  the piece(s) will be delivered to a dry area.  Generally this is a garage or covered porch, lobby or residential receiving dock.  It is your responsibility to carefully inspect the piece(s).  If there are any issues make certain to note them on the delivery paperwork.

DOCK TO DOCK DELIVERY |  the piece(s) will be delivered to a full access loading dock.  This option is not available for residential deliveries.  

Delivery cannot be arranged until we have received payment in full.  Shipping options apply to the 48 contiguous United States


WOOD | Generally a piece of wood furniture takes about one year to acclimate to its new environment.  During this time fissures accentuating the variations on the woods surface may occur.  Variations are not covered by warranty.  Variances occur because each piece of wood is unique – no 2 pieces are alike.

Color, grain variations and veining are natural characteristics of metal, steel, wood, leather and other materials and will vary from piece to piece.  These characteristics may vary from samples provided.  Orders may not be returned, cancelled, nor deposits refunded due to variations in characteristics.  Precise colors and tones of any woods or other natural materials cannot be guaranteed to be identical to the samples.  This is because the natural materials are used and despite every effort to ensure a consistent reproduction of color, grain, etc., it is inherent that variations will exist – it is what makes your piece unique.
