to be honest, we celebrate verellen everyday…but especially on earth day. verellen is best known for its timeless design, heirloom quality + extreme comfort. less known is verellen’s steadfast dedication to sustainability: using wood from sustainably managed forests, recycled steel coils, thoughtfully selected fabrics + shipping containers from recycled cardboard – it’s all an innate part of the design + craft process. and because it is so beautifully made it is heirloom quality – no throw aways, no landfill. #loveverellen

earth friendly furniture – in verellen’s words
We reconcile with nature wherever we can, starting with the wood used in or on our pieces, sourced from sustainably managed local forests. We work with our suppliers to make sure our components, fabrics, leather, and finishes are produced in the most eco friendly and sustainable manner possible.
Our products are constructed of hardwood maple, ash, walnut and CARB2 compliant hardwood poplar plywood. We use 100% recycled steel coil springs and non toxic FDA glue approved for food packaging. Our back pillows and seat cushions are made with ethically and humanely harvested down feathers, washed in natural emulsifiers, rinsed, steam dried, and presented in a 100% organic unbleached down proof ticking, resulting in a debris free hypo allergenic natural fill with exceptional quality and performance. Our primary line of cushioning is made from a plant based poly core, and in areas requiring a firmer feel, recycled rebond foam is used. All poly foam used is CertiPUR-US certified and meets Prop 65 requirements. Under our slipcovers, frames are covered with unwashed unbleached cotton muslin.
We offer a wide variety of fabrics and leathers, that have been carefully selected with human and ecological safety at the forefront of our mind. The fabrics in our collection are primarily woven from natural materials, such as 100% Belgian Linen, cotton, virgin wool, as well as 100% recycled natural and synthetic yarns. Our leather collection features a selection of sustainably tanned hides that are byproduct waste from the food industry. Our leathers meet internationally standardized testing and certifications for leather and leather goods at all production levels. Even our shipping containers are made from recycled cardboard.
As a team, we continue ongoing efforts to source the most natural materials offered on the market, as well as reduce our own carbon footprint by improving the manufacturing process in which we produce our product.
