armchair adventures : a “virtual” tour

a few years ago we had wednesdays off…and we rambled about and shared our expeditions + sitings via ‘wandering wednesdays’. we’re reviving the concept – though it will be an ‘armchair adventure’.

ARMCHAIR ADVENTURES – vol. 1

read

troubled times call for engaging escapes. week 2 called for the revival of the entire Bruno, Chief of Police series by Martin Walker. kindles were loaded and ready to roll. the short description is: a mystery series featuring “Benoît Courrèges, aka Bruno, a policeman in a small village in the South of France.  He’s a former soldier who has embraced the pleasures and slow rhythms of country life. He has a gun but never wears it; he has the power to arrest but never uses it.”  Not your thing? think again ladies – the food, cooking, camaraderie (all strong, engaging personalities) and great self sufficiency of the male characters are awesome…the descriptions of the lovely dordogne + the love of place…and back to it – the food! check out this NYT article – start planning your trip now!

the Dordogne region of France ‘saunters to the beat of a different drummer’ – i want to go! Perigod truffles, goat cheeses, cepes, vin de noix, foie gras, village markets, monzillbac, wonderful walking, rivers + bridges…strawberries….castles

sit

my armchair this week – the Benedict Club Chair from Verellen – a masculine design, perfect comfort – and I can envision a Benedict in a lovely Dordogne home…or 4 as a “conversation pit” at Bruno’s club!

questions – email us at info@artefacthome.com – we are the exclusive Verellen partner for Boston + beyond! we will be delighted to provide you with a quote, suggestions, fabric options etc. let’s get ‘virtual’!
